There is a large free parking lot, restrooms, outdoor showers, gazebo, picnic tables and lifeguard towers. Lifeguards are manned daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. American Beach is a Nassau County beach. Driving onto the sand and parking on the beach is allowed for residents. Non-residents require a permit.
